Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Salary Range: $55,000 to $75,000, depending on experience

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

CDH Consulting is seeking an Accounting Specialist to assist in all accounting-related functions for its environmental consulting business.  This position will coordinate between CDH project and client managers, HR, and outside clients and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Accounting Manager, assist in the compilation and submission of approximately 200 client invoices monthly.

  • Coordinate the workflow of internal timesheets, expense reports and in-house expenses.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Assist in the review and preparation of monthly balance sheet and P&L statements.

  • Help integrate bi-weekly payrolls into the accounting system and reconcile health insurance and retirement deductions and contributions.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations and improve company accounting policies.

  • Set-up new clients, projects, vendors, and contractors. 

  • Maintain and review general ledger accounts.

  • Help to enter new company equipment (fixed assets) and loan payment schedules.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Excel is used extensively in this position

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Deltek accounting software (Ajera)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
